Market regulator issues guidelines on leveraged intra-day trades
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on Monday issued guidelines for the collection of upfront margins from clients, which the broking community said would put an end to leveraged intra-day trading and make a huge dent in trading turnover.
The regulator has asked brokers to collect upfront so-called value at risk (VaR) margin and extreme loss margin (ELM) even for trading in the equity cash segment. Corona Kavach, which was launched on July 10 and is being offered by both general and health insurers, is a standard health insurance policy created to meet the treatment requirements for coronavirus.

The new features include information on high value financial transactions of assessees such as credit card payments, purchase of shares, debentures and mutual funds, cash payment for goods and services.
